Pokémon Black and White remakes may have been teased in DLC

Yesterday’s Pokémon Presents was a big disappointment for fans of the series, but some believe there are numerous teases for next year’s rumoured Pokémon Black and White remakes.

New remakes for Pokémon Black and White have been teased by multiple insiders. The remakes will allegedly be in the style of Legends: Arceus, this time being set after the events of Black and White 2.

In the recent trailers for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet‘s DLC packs, fans believe that one of the new Pokémon evolutions is a tease for those remakes. Of course, no such remakes have been announced, despite heavy rumours.

Duraludon, a skyscraper-shaped Pokémon that was introduced in Sword and Shield returns with a new form: Archaludon. Multiple fans believe that this new evolution, that looks suspiciously like the iconic Driftveil Bridge from Black and White, is the clearest hint at an upcoming remake.

However, some fans also believe that the new evolution has no relation to Unova. Instead, it’s believed that the bridge-shaped evolution is supposed to represent London’s iconic Tower Bridge, another link back to Sword and Shield’s Britain-inspired Galar.

A remake of Pokémon Black and White is certainly in the works somewhere at Game Freak. Following the typical cycle of a new region and then a remake, the region of Unova is next up to be revisited. Whether this happens in an actual remake or a Legends-style game isn’t currently known for sure.

In other Pokémon news, Game Freak also revealed new footage of the crime drama spin-off Detective Pikachu Returns. While the game looks graphically poor, it does seem to offer some much-needed improvements over the original game.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s DLCs are still scheduled to release this year on Nintendo Switch. The first DLC, The Teal Mask, releases on September 13th 2023. The Indigo Disk, the game’s second DLC, is scheduled to launch in Winter.
