Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to PlayStation 5 next week and it’s going to be incredibly up to date. Larian Studios has confirmed that the PS5 port of this CRPG will include every major change from every patch released.

Michael Douse, Larian’s Director of Publishing, has confirmed that the PS5 version includes Patch 2 and all the major patches. This also means that the upcoming Xbox Series port should have the latest updates, ensuring a good time for console users.

While Baldur’s Gate 3 was always excellent, recent patches have made the game better for everyone involved. Various bug fixes aside, these updates now let dwarf characters kiss their romance options. Yes, they had to patch in characters bending and kissing dwarves in the game.

Having all of these patches from the start also means that Karlach will get her good ending in the PS5 version. Prior to the patch, fans were sad about Karlach always having a tragic fate, with the good ending originally viewed as cut content.

Fans won’t have to worry about how the game will play on the console, as Larian has adjusted playstyles for controllers. While this is still a game where everything is turn-based, using controllers shifts the game to a third-person perspective and makes certain actions easier. This will likely be the default viewpoint of the PS5 and Xbox Series versions.

There will be more updates coming to the CRPG, as Larian attempts to address any bugs that might be annoying players. Still, the game itself has clearly won fans over and it will be interesting to see if console owners have a different reaction.

Currently, Larian is planning to patch up Baldur’s Gate 3 before taking a well-earned break. However, the company is open to making DLC in the future, though they will have to introduce high-level D&D to newer players.
