With the launch of the new PlayStation VR headset, gamers are wondering how many classic VR experiences they'll be getting the chance to play. But is Boneworks on PSVR 2?
Originally published in December of 2019, Boneworks has been quickly established as one of the more interesting physics-based sandbox experiences one could have in VR.
So, logically gamers have been looking forward to getting their hands on a new version of the experience, so let's take a look and discover if Boneworks is on PlayStation VR 2.
Is Boneworks on PlayStation VR 2?
PlayStation VR 2 has more than 30 games at launch, and Boneworks isn't one. But will it be added to the PSVR 2 games list after the launch?
Well, at the moment, there seem to be no plans by the development team to bring Boneworks to PlayStation VR 2. While, back in January 2022, the team had mentioned - on Twitter - a high possibility of the game coming to PSVR 2, but since then there haven't been any more updates.
In more depressing news, a recent tweet by the dev has confirmed that there is "no current commitment to PSVR". So, while that doesn't mean Boneworks won't come to PSVR 2 sometime in the future, at the moment, the chances of seeing the game released in the upcoming months are definitely slim.
However, there is a chance that the successor of Boneworks - Bonelab - will be on PSVR 2. When the first details on the PSVR 2 were released, Brandon J Laatsch (founder of Stress Level Zero) tweeted that "there is a 90% chance we [Stress Level Zero games] support them."
Is Boneworks a VR exclusive?
The narrative experience makes advanced use of VR techniques and, therefore, it is a title exclusive to VR headsets. The game requires the player to dynamically navigate through environments, along with engaging in combat that is definitely heavy on physics, as well as many of the puzzles that will feature in the levels.
At the moment, Boneworks can be played on the Oculus and it is also available on the Steam store. While you can't play it directly on the Meta Quest 2, it is possible to connect your headset to a VR-ready PC both wirelessly or with a cable and play Boneworks on Steam VR or the Oculus app.
