Xiaomi has revealed new Intel-powered versions of its popular RedmiBook 14 II and RedmiBook 16 laptops. The new RedmiBook Intel laptops are powered by 10th-gen Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs.
The existing RedmiBook 16 and 14 II laptops feature the AMD Ryzen 5/7 4500U/4700U processor, 16 GB and 512 GB storage. But are the new Intel versions the same, better or worse? Read on for all the info...
RedmiBook Intel models specs
According to NotebookCheck, the new Intel models of the RedmiBook 16 and 14 II are almost identical in specs to the existing AMD versions. The only obvious change is the replacement of the Ryzen processors with a choice of 10th-gen Intel Core i5-1035G1 or i7-1065G7 unit.
The i5-1035G1 is a quad-core processor which features a clock speed of 1.0-3.6 GHz and 6 MB Intel Smart cache. The i7-1065G7 also has four cores and clocks in at 1.3-3.9 GHz, with an 8 MB Intel Smart Cache. The 16 features 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD; the 14 II also comes in an 8 GB RAM option.

RedmiBook Intel models features
It appears that the Intel versions of the RedmiBook 16 and 14 II will boast the same range of features as their AMD counterparts. In our news post announcing the 16 back in May, we revealed that "There’s a large trackpad with integrated mouse buttons, a fingerprint scanner and a pair of downward-firing speakers. There’s also a ton of ports for various connections, including two USB Type-A and two Type-C docks, and an HDMI output."
The 16 reportedly features the same 12-hour battery life as the AMD original, while the 14 has a slightly smaller battery offering up to 10 hours on one charge.

RedmiBook Intel models price
Xiaomi has announced that the new Core i5 RedmiBook 14 II will start at CNY 4,699. That works out at roughly £531 in the UK, $672 in the US and €593 in Europe. No word on the i7 version yet.
The RedmiBook 16 Intel Core i5 model will retail from CNY 4,999 - around £565 in the UK, $715 in the US and €630 in Europe. The i7 version starts at CNY 5,699 / £644 / $816 / €719.
RedmiBook Intel models release date
Xiaomi has started a pre-sale for the new RedmiBook laptops. A full launch will follow on July 15th, 2020. No news yet on whether the laptops will make their way across the water to the States or Europe.
