It’s been one month since Payday 3 was released and the multiplayer shooter is still a mess, albeit, with the potential to be better. Fans were hoping that the game’s first major patch would be coming soon but Starbreeze Studios has announced yet another delay for the fix.
According to the shooter’s official Discord (via PC Gamer), the update was delayed after some new issues were identified. While the disappointment was acknowledged, the team assured players that this is a major priority to this patch.
"We're sorry for the lack of communication regarding the first patch," Starbreeze community and influencer manager Elisabeth Elvestad said on the game’s Discord. “We have identified some issues that need to be fixed before we can bring it to you, but rest assured that this is the main priority for our teams."
Fans of Payday 3 wouldn’t have minded the additional time if it wasn’t the third delay for this major patch. Originally, this update was supposed to come out at the start of October. Due to unforeseen issues, it was stated that the patch would come in mid-October. Now, we’re more than halfway through October and another delay has been announced.
Unfortunately, this third entry seems to be cursed, as the shooter continues to be plagued with issues and bad timing. Many fans have pointed out that the game has botched its PC and console launch. It also doesn’t help that the game was launched in this state, especially since its predecessor is so beloved.
Starbreeze is aware of how much fans enjoy Payday 2, as the shooter was made free to hype up PayDay 3. This has backfired wildly, as fans are playing PayDay 2 more now due to all of the issues plaguing its sequel. It will be interesting to see if the third entry can recover from this.
PayDay 3 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
