New Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay is sneakily hiding in Across the Spider-Verse, but most fans were too distracted to notice. Considering how much of the character’s history was put in the movie, we don’t blame anyone for missing it.

Minor spoilers for Across the Spider-Verse

In one of the early scenes where Miles Morales has a conversation with Ganke, gameplay for the sequel is shown. Fans are likely not to notice due to the stunning animation and Ganke being fit as heck but it’s there.

Admittedly, what’s shown in the movie isn’t much, as the previous Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 showcase was much more interesting. However, it was nice of Sony to put a little tease there, pumping us up for the game even more.

Fans will also be happy to know that Insomniac’s Spidey also cameos in the movie, with Yuri Lowenthal’s voice too. Granted, he doesn’t do much, but he is shown in his PS4/PS5 character model, which was great for everyone.

No one’s missing out on much, though the gameplay has Peter Parker using those mechanical spider legs well. These additional weapons are in the announcement trailer so seeing them in actual gameplay was neat. While it’s not much, we’re pretty happy to see that the OG Spidey will still be capable with no symbiote.

Spider-Man fans are eating well this year, with both the video game sequel and Across the Spider-Verse. This article won’t spoil the movie for anyone but it was an incredible comic book movie and we can’t wait for the sequel.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also looks great and will be another hit PlayStation exclusive, that’s for sure. The fact that we have more villains to beat up is great too, even if the plot is a lot like the Spider-Man 3 video game.

No release date for the sequel has been announced, though the leaked September window seems likely.
