Ever wanted to go on a huge Dungeons and Dragons adventure without any friends? The new Baldur’s Gate 3 Lone Wolf mod makes that very possible, stripping companions from the massive RPG. If you’re not looking to beat the game in ten minutes, these might be for you.

Via Eurogamer, there are currently two Lone Wolf mods available on Nexus Mods for Larian’s new RPG. While they both do the same job, the ways they tackle a solo playthrough of BG3 are completely different.

For example, Fenix’s Lone Wolf Mod offers a toggleablemode that adds numerous passive buffs to help make the experience more balanced.

In the buffs, players get an extra action point per turn, a 30% increase to hit points, 50% increase to carrying capacity, a 1d4 bonus to every d20 roll, and more frequent weapon action use. The mod may be called Lone Wolf, but it’s designed for a co-op playthrough with a partner.

Mordread256’s Lone Wolf is another mod that increases stats for single player mode. Inspired by the Lone Wolf modes of Baldur’s Gate 2, this mod increases leveling and XP gain to ease the game’s solo difficulty.

The mod explains that players will receive twice the amount of XP, an increased level cap of 20, increased carrying capacity, an extra feat for every class, double actions, bonus spell slots and extra sorcery points.

Of course, these mods do rip out the game’s amazing companions. In our review of the game, we mentioned how the complex interactions with the game’s companions are some of the game’s best moments. After all, what’s the point of playing if you can’t romance Shadowheart, Karlach, Gale, Wyll, or get rammed by a bear? Even some of Larian’s devs would say that the game’s horniness is its strongest component.

Baldur’s Gate 3 mods will only work on the game’s PC version, the only released version at the time of writing. While an official Lone Wolf mode may be added in the future for the game’s upcoming console release, that’s not confirmed.
