During Google's Launch Night In live stream, the new flagship Pixel smartphone was revealed: known as the Google Pixel 5, this is sure to be one of the Google's best-selling products in the next year or so.

Google's own website proclaims the Google Pixel 5 to be "the ultimate 5G Google phone", so the company is clearly pretty proud of it! And if you're wondering what's going on inside the eye-catching new handset, you've come to the right place.

"It can take a splash or spill, no problem" reads the Google site, making it clear that a degree of waterproofing is one of the main Pixel 5 features that the company is keen to shout about.

Wireless charging is also a key feature, as is the 'Extreme Battery Saver' mode which can apparently get you 48 hours of battery life.

Of course, the Google Pixel 5's connection to the powerful 5G network is also a big deal. And you'll even be able to share the power of 5G with your mates, using the '5G hotspot' feature.

In other news, unlike the new Chromecast, the Google Pixel 5 WILL work with the Google Stadia game-streaming platform.

And in terms of colours, right now 'Just Black' and 'Sorta Sage' are the two options that you have to choose from.

Google Pixel 5 price and pre-order

The pre-order window for the Google Pixel 5 has begun, and you can click here if you fancy flying off to the Google site and thinking about making a purchase.

The 'Sorta Sage' version is out of stock right now, but you could order a 'Just Black' version if you wanted to. The price for either option comes in at £599 GBP all-in. Or if you prefer monthly payments, it's £24.96 per month over a period of 24 months.

The Google Pixel 5 has a confirmed release date of 15th October 2020 in the UK, USA and Australia. So it won't be long before you see this handset starting to appear on shop shelves!
