PSVR: How to install the headset.

The PSVR headset won't work on its own - you need to know how to install it properly.

This may be a bit complicated since it deals with some hefty procedures required to make sure that it is installed correctly.

After accomplishing every step mentioned however, it will be one worthy result and will eventually pay off once you get a handle on your PSVR experience.

With that, here is how to install the PSVR headset.

Install your PSVR v1.0 Headset

There are two versions of the PSVR headset. This can be determined by looking at the product code placed on your headset's actual packaging.

Those two different models also differ on the latter parts of how you should install the PSVR headset.

The first and older model of the PSVR is coded as the CUH-ZVR2 PSVR headset. Here's how you install it:

  • Connect your PSVR's processor unit to your TV screen through the HDMI port available.
  • Then set your PSVR camera by connecting it to your PS console at around 5 feet off the floor.
  • Link a HDMI cable to your console as well as the HDMI port on the processor unit. Connect both of those again but now on the other sides and place on each of it (one in front of your console, and one at the back of the processor unit).
  • Source some power by plugging in the power cable to an open outlet. Eventually, connect it to the back of the processor unit as well.
  • Then connect the cable of your PSVR headset on the front part of your processor unit.
  • Turn on your console and the TV at the same time.
  • Click on the power button located on your PSVR headset.
  • Now proceed by doing the necessary steps for a configuration that will appear on your screen.

Install your PSVR v2.0 Headset

The other PSVR headset version known as the CUH-ZVR2, some of the steps above may differ on how this version of the headset is being installed.

But similar to what Techradar states, it's not the whole process which is different - only some are.

  • Start by attempting the same steps from 1 to 4 above.
  • Once you have plugged the components in, slide the cover for the processor unit and follow-through by connecting your PSVR headset with the corresponding connectors for it.
  • Connect the headset directly onto the connection cable.
  • Finish off by carrying out steps 6 to 8 above.

Once you complete these steps, there's just some configuration with your headset and you will be ready to go.
