After stating last year that it had no plans for VR in the near future, Sony announced yesterday it is working on a PSVR 2, slated to launch next year.
Currently, only a select few games available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 have received PSVR-based games, with IO Interactive's Hitman 3being the latest to make the shift into virtual reality.
While it might be some time before Sony gives us any more PSVR 2 updates, we're still pretty excited to see what is in store for the next generation of PlayStation VR. With that in mind, here are the top five PlayStation games we'd love to see more of in VR.

Death Stranding
When Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding launched in 2019, it certainly divided players. However, following its subsequent release on PC in 2020, Death Stranding has gradually become a much-loved game by those who played it.
Death Stranding would make for a fantastic VR game. From the immersive horror experience of having to sneak past BTs, to having to soothe BB when scared, there's plenty of unique gameplay moments Death Stranding could offer as a virtual reality game. With an open-world packed with amazing traversal options and areas to explore, Death Stranding is high up on the PlayStation games we'd love to see get a VR version.
Of course, it's never that simple. Open-world games would be notoriously difficult to port over to a VR headset, especially one that looks as good as Death Stranding. There's also the issue of falling over - something that happens quite a lot when bearing a heavy load in Death Stranding, and could cause quite a few VR-related injuries. Still, if we had to put anybody on the case to solve these problems, Hideo Kojima would be at the top of our list.

Gran Turismo 7
In announcing the PSVR 2, Sony confirmed that because of COVID-19-related issues, Gran Turismo 7 is getting pushed back until 2022.
This is sure to disappoint racing game fans excited for a new next-gen Gran Turismo, but what better way to cheer them up by announcing a VR-version instead?
Unlike Death Stranding, there is also precedent for a Gran Turismo VR game, with Gran Turismo SportVR releasing in 2017. This VR mode was well-received by those who played it, and with next-gen graphics promising an even better, more realistic driving simulator, GT7 VR should be one to look out for, maybe even in the State of Play on February 25.

Spider-Man PS4/Miles Morales
Okay, so this is a game that would either work incredibly well in VR, or be a huge disaster.
Spider-Man PS4proved to be the ultimate Spidey-simulator and ushered in a new era of superhero-based video games. We'd love to explore the open-world of New York from a VR perspective, although motion sickness is definitely a concern in this one.
Again, much like Gran Turismo, Spider-Man does have some history with VR gaming. Sony previously released a VR experience to tie in with Spider-Man: Far From Home, and while it has mixed reviews on Steam, shows Sony has not ruled out bringing the web-slinger to VR, especially after releasing Iron Man VR last year.

Astro's Playroom
Astro's Playroom is a spin-off from Astro BOT Rescue Mission - a PSVR title released in 2018 - and so we wouldn't be shocked if the series returned to its roots as with a VR version of the PS5 game, perhaps even as a free game bundled with the PSVR 2.
If this was to happen, we'd expect Astro's Playground to once again act as an introduction to the new console, perhaps showing off all the new features of the PSVR 2 in the same way it made use of the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Given Astro's Playroom features levels dedicated to four core aspects of the PlayStation 5, Asobi Team could perhaps introduce another level based on the PSVR 2's hardware, along with a brand new song about VR. As long as they keep the GPU song, I'm sold.

Overcooked 2
No good video game console can exist without a proper party game. Team17's Overcooked revolutionised the couch co-op genre with its food-based antics, and following the release of Overcooked 2 has become a staple for all console libraries across the world.
Whether in first-person or as another top-down experience, an Overcooked VR game could be that party game PSVR is currently missing. The stresses of cooking and chopping would only be intensified in VR, making for some hilarious, friendship-ending fun that I for one would be first in line for.
If you want a taste of Overcooked in VR right now, Resolution Games' Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale does offer a similar experience and has been well-received, sitting at an 86 rating on Metacritic.
