With the Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition launch for PC just around the corner, you may be wondering if your Steam Deck will be able to run the game as well. We know for certain that Horizon Forbidden West was compatible with the PS Remote Play app via Steam Deck, but we’d all love to be able to play the game on the hardware itself.

Is Horizon Forbidden West playable on Steam Deck?
There’s currently no confirmation as to whether Horizon Forbidden West will be Steam Deck Verified, or at the very least, playable. However, considering that the first game is Verified by Valve for the best gaming handheld, we wouldn’t be surprised if the sequel was the same too.
Firstly, what we do know is that Horizon Zero Dawn is Steam Deck Verified, meaning that it runs really well on the Steam Deck. It still hasn’t been announced for PC players if Horizon Forbidden West will be available for them to play on their Steam Decks when the game is released.
However, the good news for all those who are eagerly waiting, is that, considering our predictions for the Horizon Forbidden West PC system requirements, that you should be able to play the game via your handheld PC.. It’s looking very likely that you will have the opportunity to play Horizon Forbidden West on Steam Deck, but the real question is, will it run well?
Even if the game is not officially Steam Deck Verified by Valve, a lot of users on ProtonDB will be able to (or at least attempt to) create viable workarounds that will make the game playable, unless it is completely broken at launch, of course.
