Xbox Series X team promises "a better console" than PS5

It seems we're destined to do this forever, and by this, we mean the whole console war thing. In case you hadn't noticed, the latest piece of Xbox Series X hype is here!

A console war is not a romantic concept - can't we all just get along? - but it seems that the people over at Microsoft really want to "win" the console war in the next generation of hardware.

This time around, the comments come via the Real Deal Xbox Podcast, which featured Microsoft's Bill Stillwell over on YouTube.

The video is two hours long, but the key things that Stillwell said all pointed to the confidence that Microsoft has over Sony with the Xbox Series X vs the PS5.

The latest comments from team Xbox about the PS5

Stillwell noted that the incredibly dry PS5 reveal "was the unfortunate by-product of a GDC talk being turned into a marketing event", which it's hard to argue with.

Stillwell also said, "I loved Sony's talk, I think they've got some cool tech. I personally think we have a better console; we're not worried about the power narrative."

We've already talked a bit about the power behind both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. At least as far as pure numbers are concerned, the Xbox Series X seems far more powerful.

Previous beef from this console war

This isn't the first time that we've heard Microsoft's big claims. Microsoft recently published a video which reacted to the PS5 news by hammering home the funky features inside the Xbox Series X.

It's not always in favour of Team Microsoft though. A developer from Crytek says, "As a programmer, I say PS5 is much better, and I don't think you can find a programmer that could name one advantage that XSX has over PS5."

If you'd like to know more about this whole debate, then we've already written about it from several angles too. Knowledge is power, after all, and that means you could be very powerful indeed.

So, if you want to know all about the teraflops inside of the consoles, then we've got you covered. We've also summed up the backwards compatibility too. Outside of the stuff we know for certain, we even talked a little bit about the potential price of the new consoles. So you've basically got lots of things to look into. Happy studying!
