How to download PS Plus games and claim your FREE titles for the PS4


If you've just bought a new PlayStation 4 for games like The Last of Us 2, you might be now wanting to expand your library of PS4 games.

Big PS4 exclusives like Ghost Of Tsushima are all well and good, after all, but you'll want to bolster your collection with some free PS Plus games.

How to get access to PS Plus games

To be eligible for the free PlayStation Plus games, you need to be a members of PlayStations premium subscription service, PS Plus.

The price of this varies by how long you decide to subscribe to the service.

Once you have downloaded the free games, you will need to continue being a member of PS Plus, as the games become unavailable after your subscription ends, even if you've downloaded them.

What games can I get with PS Plus?

Aside from access to unlimited online play, PS Plus gives its subscribers two free games every month. In the past few months, these titles have included: Fall Guys, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, The Sims4, Sonic Forces and Cities: Skylines. So it's not just giving away shovelware.

Given that the service celebrated its ten-year anniversary recently, fans are expecting PlayStation to offer some of the most iconic games from the past few years to players for free.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Street Fighter V are both free until October 5. After this, starting on October 6, both Need for Speed: Payback and Vampyr will be available for PS Plus members until November 2.

How to download PS Plus games

To download you free PS Plus games you'll need to go to the PlayStation Store from your PS4 dashboard.

Once here, scroll down to the tab called PS Plus. Here, you'll be able to see the free monthly games and any extra deals available for PS Plus subscribers this month.

When you click on your desired game, you'll be redirected to the game's page on the PlayStation Store. Here you can press purchase and the game will start downloading for free.

Even if you don't have any intention of playing the game, or don't want to waste your precious PS4 storage on it, starting the download and then cancelling it will ensure the game remains in your library.

This means if you ever have the desire to play a game later, you'll still be able to download it for free even after it has gone from the PS Plus offer.
