Robert Pattinson signs First Look deal to produce films at Warner Bros


As actors get more successful, they tend to become producers for projects that interest them. Following his MCU success, Robert Downey Jr started producing movies such as Sweet Tooth and Sherlock Holmes 3. On the DC side, Gal Gadot became a producer for Wonder Woman 1984 and its sequel. Now, Warner Bros’ Batman Robert Pattinson is starting his journey as a producer.

As Robert Pattinson moves to become a more successful Hollywood icon, becoming a more prominent producer is an important step forward. In a new deal with Warner Bros and New Line, Pattinson has signed a First Look deal.

In the deal, Pattinson has a first look privilege over every division within Warner Bros. This means that new HBO Max, Warner Bros TV, New Line and the main Warner Bros division. Essentially, Pattinson will now have first-dibs on projects pitched to Warner Bros.

Alongside the announcement of the deal, Robert Pattinson released a statement:

“Warner Bros Pictures and HBO have always been synonymous with groundbreaking filmmaking. I’m thrilled to be working with them to discover the most exciting new voices in film and television and help bring their visions to life.  I’ve loved working with the studio over the years and have so much respect for their dedication, their willingness to take chances and their desire to push the envelope creatively.”

Warner Bros’ Courtnenay Valenti explained that Pattinson's eye for identifying fantastic filmmakers is an invaluable addition for the company.

"We have been incredibly impressed with Rob’s eye for identifying dynamic new filmmakers. Additionally, he is continually nurturing exciting story ideas into compelling screenplays. We are so excited that Warner Bros. and New Line will be his home and that we get to benefit from his creative, commercial passions."
