Robert Pattinson allegedly “mad" at Snyder Cut success and Keaton's return

Robert Pattinson will be donning the cowl in his first outing next year. The star of Matt Reeves’ The Batman looks to be providing a very brooding take on Gotham's Dark Knight. However, the actor is reportedly upset that he might be pushed out of the limelight.

With multiple reports explaining that Warner Bros' DC output will have multiple Batman portrayals, Robert Pattinson allegedly isn't down with that. Alongside Pattinson, Affleck and Keaton will be reprising the role as well as another actor in Batman Beyond.

Is Robert Pattinson unhappy as Batman?

Sources that leaked the HBO Max release of the Snyder Cut to We Got This Covered are saying that Pattinson is not pleased at the news. With the actor signed on to star in the main trilogy of Batman flicks, the wave of new Caped Crusader content is muddying the waters.

WGTC reports that Robert Pattinson is not only upset at Affleck and Keaton's return for The Flash, but also as the success of the Snyder Cut. As Zack Snyder’s Justice League has pushed fan-favourite Batfleck back to the public eye, it takes focus away from Pattinson.

Pattinson's interpretation of Gotham's Dark Knight isn't representative of a traditional superhero. As the new Justice League pushes for a true superhero Batman, the actor reportedly believes it causes audience confusion.

The future of The Batman

Pattinson will be the star of three movies as Bruce Wayne. Warner Bros wants the upcoming Matt Reeves film to be a full-fledged trilogy, just like Nolan's successful movies. For HBO Max, a prequel TV series is also in the works.

However, fans have started to push back following the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. At the time of writing, fans are campaigning to get Ben Affleck's original Batman movie made for HBO Max. All part of the new effort to Restore the SnyderVerse, the campaign is starting to make waves.

Reportedly, Dwayne Johnson is already riding on this fan campaign for his upcoming Black Adam movie. As the wrestling star wants his character to take on Cavill's Superman and the rest of the DCEU Justice League, he wants Snyder's characters to stay.

Unfortunately, Warner Bros is fighting this decision as they want individual interpretations like Pattinson. As they attempt to distance themselves from the DCEU, reports state that they're also looking to replace Ezra Miller as The Flash. This decision would leave only Gal Gadot and Jason Mamoa as Snyder's original cast.
