Spider-Man actors have a habit of dating their on-screen love interests. The OG webhead Tobey Maguire dated Kirsten Dunst, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were in a relationship, and now Tom Holland and Zendaya are dating.

At this point, it’s hard not to see a pattern emerge among Peter Parker's actors, and fans aren't the only ones to notice. In fact, Spidey producer Amy Pascal is well aware of the romantic spider-bite surrounding the series.

Amy Pascal warns Spider-Man stars against dating

In an interview with The New York Times, Pascal explained that Spidey stars have been consistently warned against internal dating. Ever since Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire’s relationship, successive actor’s are told not to date.

Pascal told the outlet that she personally warned both Tom Holland and Zendaya before filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming began. Of course, as of filming of No Way Home, the two actors are part of the Internet’s favourite relationship.

“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture," Pascal said. "Don't go there – just don't. Try not to.”

Pascal continued to clarify that she has been consistently ignored by actors when telling them not to get romantically involved. She said: “I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma," she added. "It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me."

Fans go crazy for Holland and Zendaya’s relationship

With the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Spidey in particular, it’s no surprise that fans are all over Tom Holland and Zendaya’s relationship. As one of the only ongoing relationships between MCU stars, there's a massive spotlight on the two.

Outside of paparazzi intruding on the couple's private moments, the relationship has been kept mostly private. However, fans still create videos of the two’s “adorable moments” in interviews across YouTube and, especially, TikTok.
