Sony, widely recognized as one of the best TV brands, especially for gaming, unveiled the highly anticipated Sony Bravia XR A95L in March 2023.

The new model promises to go after top brands in the OLED market with a beautiful design, more extensive configuration, and better brightness overall. The A95K model even comes with a webcam, which can automatically adjust based on the viewer's position.

This new and exciting OLED TV has a lot to look at, so let's not waste any time and dive into all the information about the Sony a95l.

Sony A95L specs

Here are the specs for the brand-new Sony A95L TV:

  • Size: 77"
  • Panel: Quantum Dot OLED
  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Resolution: 3840 x 2160
  • Refresh Rate: 120 Hz
  • Inputs: 4 HDMI, 1 Coaxial F-Type, 1 Toslink optical
  • USB ports: 2
  • Ethernet port: 1

Sony's A95L will use the newest QD-OLED by Samsung, but you don't have to worry about high temperatures. Thanks to the all-new Cognitive XR Processor and an improved heat sink, the A95L will keep low temperatures while producing beautiful images without impacting lifespan.

The A95L will also be the only TV in Sony's 2023 range to support Dolby Vision for gaming and be capable of outputting 4K/120Hz with support for VRR.

Soundwise, the A95L doesn't boast any new features from last year's model. The TV comes with a 2.2-channel setup, using a technology that makes the screen panel vibrate from behind. This can be used to create more real sound without using a soundbar and a couple of woofers that will handle bass.

Sony A95L reviews

While reviews are yet to be published, we have some interesting hands-on. Tom's Guide notes that the new model features notable improvements to the brightness compared to last year's model, along with a larger 77-inch size to fit most big living rooms or bedrooms.

There is also a nifty new Multi-View feature and a surprise for all gamers: a dedicated Game Menu where it'll be possible to choose options related to TV performance when gaming. As we mentioned earlier, some models will also come with the Sony Bravia Cam, which will help personalize the viewing experience, depending on where we're sitting.

Is Sony A95L good for gaming?

We most definitely say so. In this year's model, Sony has also featured a new game menu, which will be manna from heaven to those gamers who want to quickly modify their TV settings when switching from watching Netflix to playing Call of Duty.

It is possible to even add a crosshair to the TV via the in-game menu. Overall, the Sony A95L can run in 4K 120Hz with VRR and Dolby Vision concurrently, so it is a great candidate for long gaming sessions. It also boasts Sony's Perfect for PlayStation 5 badge, which ensures better overall HDR performance by using both Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.
