If you're in the market for a new monitor, the hundreds of options can seem pretty overwhelming. However, LG's latest monitor may have an ace up its sleeve that will appeal to competitive and single-player gamers alike, making it an even better investment for those playing multiple types of games.
Looking for the best gaming monitor is certainly a daunting task. After finding the best graphics cards and setting up the best gaming desk, your budget may be fairly tight. However, there's a good reason to opt for an expensive monitor sometimes, and LG is hoping to wow you with its latest release.
The LG UltraGear 32GS95UE has an unassuming design, despite its large 32" size. It's an OLED 4K UHD (3840 x 2160px) panel, capable of refresh rates up to 240Hz, which is fairly impressive for a 4K monitor. However, the latest UltraGear monitor is capable of switching to 1080p at 480Hz at the press of a button.
That means, if you're playing something like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla in 4K, experiencing the full beauty of a historic England, and then you get a message from your friend to play some Valorant, you can quickly press a hotkey and switch to 1080p mode with high refresh rates in an instant.
That's not all, the 32GS95UE is also VESA Certified, with support for VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400, sporting up to 98.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut expression. The UltraGear monitor also features something LG calls "Pixel Sound", which hopes to provide you with a better experience compared to speakers under a monitor by having the sound waves emit from behind the OLED panel. We're certainly excited to see how well this performs when we get our hands on it.
Unfortunately, the newest LG UltraGear won't be on our best budget gaming monitor lists anytime soon. It's currently up for pre-order on the LG website at the eye-watering price of $1,399. Strangely, the product already has some incentivised reviews which give it an average score of 2/5 stars, with many reviews citing the matte coating for their low rating.
