SEGA wants to bring MORE classic games to Nintendo Switch - which retro gems deserve it?

SEGA is very keen to bring more of its classic games onto Nintendo Switch, we've learned today straight from the horse's mouth.

Oddly enough, though, this news comes just after we heard that SEGA is focusing "aggressively" on PC ports at the moment. But it seems like the company ALSO wants to focus on Switch ports.

SEGA says it wants more Switch ports

Speaking to the Japanese outlet Game Watch, in an interview that Nintendo Everything has shared, SEGA’s Yosuke Okunari revealed his desire to see more classic SEGA games on Nintendo Switch.

He said: "Considering SEGA Ages has ended, some may be wondering if we have plans to continue re-releasing past titles on Nintendo Switch – I want that to happen.

"I hope to bring something over that will really satisfy Switch players. So until then, we hope you’ll look forward to it.”

SEGA classics have GOTTA GO FAST onto Switch... but which ones?

Which SEGA classics need to come to Switch?

There are already some old SEGA games on Switch, but which ones still need to make that transition?

Stealth Optional's Daryl Baxter is our website's biggest SEGA fan, so I asked him which SEGA games he wants to see on Switch! And this is the list he came back with:

  • Outrun 2
  • Sonic Adventure
  • House of the Dead
  • NIGHTS
  • Burning Rangers
  • Sonic the Fighters
  • Shinobi 3
  • Ristar
  • Sonic Generations
  • Space Channel 5
  • Shenmue Trilogy
  • Golden Axe
  • Fighters Megamix

Here's hoping that SEGA is reading, because those classics would be a great next-step in the company's rollout on Nintendo Switch.

And considering that a new Switch model could be coming soon, this could be a great time for SEGA to double down on Nintendo's handheld.
