After the PS5 reveal event finally showed us what the new console looks like, fans of the PlayStation are now waiting to see how much it will cost to buy the console at launch.
While Microsoft is yet to reveal the price for their Xbox Series X console, industry insiders have speculated they might be holding out until Sony reveal the price of the PS5 so they can undercut it.

How much will the PS5 Standard Edition cost in the UK?
The original PlayStation and PS2 hit the shelves at Ā£299, with the PS3 at Ā£425 and PS4 at Ā£350.

We expect a standard editionĀ PS5 UK priceĀ of around Ā£450 ā although weāll have to wait and see ā contrary to someĀ early claims it could be cheaperĀ than the PS4. The Digital Edition may come in around Ā£50 cheaper.
How much will the Standard Edition Cost in the US?
The first two PlayStations were around $299, with the PS3 at $499 and the PS4 at $399.
Again, weād be looking at roughly $499 for the PS5 price in the US.Ā Pretty hefty, but likely well worth it.
When will Sony release the official price?
While Sony did not announce the price at the latest State of Play event, we expect that they will reveal the price alongside the release date later this summer.
Given how crucial pre-orders are to the initial success of a console, we don't think Sony will want to wait too long to reveal how much this will cost consumers.
