Who are the Influencers of the Metaverse?
In the last year, we witnessed a number of well-known figures enter the Metaverse. American rapper Snoop Dogg and fashion model turned DJ Paris Hilton are two such people.
Paris Hilton has created a virtual island in the Roblox Metaverse. The island includes a replica of her Beverly Hills mansion, DJ stages, a zoo, private jet, yacht and more. The Paris World has attracted over 70,000 visitors so far and teen girls are shelling out money to buy Paris's virtual clothing.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg has set up a mansion in the Sandbox Metaverse. He has also started land sales to allow players to purchase property in his neighbourhood aka the Snoopverse. Benzinga reported that one fan paid $450,000 to be Snoop’s virtual neighbour.
This illustrates the huge influence that these famous figures can have on the market. The more interesting part is that these two are not the only ones who have made their way into the Metaverse. Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Shawn Mendes are some who have involved themselves in the Metaverse. We can expect many more to follow suit.
