Nintendo Accounts are like Switch models; there are more of them than you might realise, and life would be much easier if they were all in the same place.
Thankfully for you, your Nintendo Account and Nintendo Network ID don't have to live out their lives separate from one another. You can, as it happens, meld them together, unite them as one, and take down the world-crushing evil with them as a result.
Well, maybe not that much, but it will make your life easier, and it'll also keep your funds under one umbrella too. The digital world is all about convenience, so make your life a little bit easier.
So, here's how to merge funds on your Nintendo Switch.
How to merge your Nintendo funds
The good news is that we can tell you exactly how to merge your accounts and funds. To do this, you'll need to follow a few steps on either a PC or mobile:
- Head to this website and link your Nintendo Network ID and your Nintendo Account
- Use your Switch to loadout up the eShop
- Select your account
- Select the icon in the top-right
- Select Merge Funds from Nintendo 3DS/Wii U
- Select Merge Funds
- Enter your password and hit OK
- Select Merge Funds

Why should you merge your Nintendo accounts?
It'll make your life easier, and it allows you to use any funds linked to your old consoles and handhelds.
Keep in mind that the balance will only be shared amongst them while they're linked, if you decide to unlink the accounts then the funds will stay on your Nintendo Account, not your Nintendo Network ID.
There's no real downside to having them linked up though, so it's unlikely that you'll want to unlink them. That being said, you can always just follow this procedure again if you decide you want to relink them in the future.
