Full list of crossplay games between consoles, computers and mobiles: Which games have crossplay between PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile, laptop and PC?

Playing with your friends on another console online is now possible.

This process is called crossplay has been a theme throughout this current-generation of consoles and PCs.

It enables the player to play a game with a friend who owns the game on a different system, and it's a tantalising thought, with wishes for other games gaining this feature.

When you think back to the mid-nineties, the idea of crossplay was to go over to your friend’s house and use the second controller in order to play Tekken 2, Mario Kart 64 and many more.

With the rise of crossplay, let's go into what's possible now, and what could occur for the next generation, once the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 launch.

Everything seems to have kicked up a gear once Sony allowed crossplay two years ago, especially with Fortnite and PubG. With this, it subsequently enabled Rocket League, Call of Duty, and even Power Rangers to be played across Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

The Nintendo Switch has even benefited from this, with Rocket League being an example of complete cross-play.

Because we’re nice, here’s a list that we’ve compiled of the games that currently work over multiple systems.

What could be next for crossplay as Xbox Series X and PS5 arrive?

Microsoft has already stated that they want their games to be accessed anywhere, with Xbox Games Pass and Project xCloud, while they've already committed the next Halo game, Halo Infinite, to be released on both Xbox and PC, with crossplay seemingly ready to go when launched.

With Sony, it's still uncertain, mainly due to us not knowing much about the PlayStation 5. As mentioned in the intro, it's still great progress that Sony even allowed it in 2018, even if the CEO lambasted it a month before.

But with PS Now still in its infancy, and it being only usable on their consoles, crossplay with other consoles may be their saving grace when connecting up with other online games. As long as they welcome this with open arms in this generation, it could benefit the whole stage, the Nintendo Switch included. And with companies like EA starting to get involved with crossplay, the future is looking like it could be bright.

For now though, if a game you own is in the list above, then see just how crossplay works, and wonder what else could work with this feature. Because one day, it might be the standard, normal feature that people will just brush off, and hopefully that day will be soon.
