Read on to find out how to solve error code 4B538E50 or EFEAB30C!
How to fix error 4B538E50 or EFEAB30C
While 2K can be pretty inconsistent with responding to new bugs that pop up within NBA 2K20, they have published some potential solutions to these errors, which we've listed below.
Download the latest data
According to 2K, this error occurs because you haven't updated your game to the latest build, meaning you won't be able to play until you download this data.
While some downloads will take place automatically within the game, the larger patches are often available from your devices store, so make sure to check the PlayStation Store, Steam, or the Microsoft Store to verify you are playing on the latest version.
Once the download is complete, you'll know you're playing with the latest data as a pop-up notification will ask you to return to the main menu so you can restart.
If you cannot download the latest data, you might have cleared NBA 2K20's Reserved Space to make room for some pretty hefty Warzone updates, for example.
If this happens, when the game launches again, it will try to recreate the Reserved Space, but if it cannot do this due to your hard drive being full, then you will encounter these errors. Deleting other games or applications may resolve this.
If this doesn't work, there are still a few methods you can try.
Resend your email confirmation
To do this, here's what you should do:
- Go to: https://www.nba2k.com
- Click "Sign In" at the top-right of the screen
- Enter your MyPLAYER account name and password
- When you log in successfully, this is an automatic verification of your account via the login.
Number of NBA 2K accounts registered to your console
As you can only have a maximum of five NBA 2K accounts registered to your console, if you have created more than five, a security protocol will prevent any account outside the first five from accessing the online servers.
Unfortunately, there is no way to fix this error in this case, and so you'll have to try playing on one of the first five accounts.
