During the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17th, Samsung introduced their S24 lineup, featuring the standard S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra. A key highlight was the Samsung Galaxy AI features available on these smartphones.
Last year marked a significant rise in AI technology, with tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney leading the way. This surge in AI innovation has now extended to smartphones, enhancing user experiences and simplifying tasks.
In this guide, we will list the Samsung Galaxy AI features, highlighting the innovative AI capabilities integrated into the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy AI may make you upgrade to the S24 series.
Samsung Galaxy AI features list
Most of the advanced features of Galaxy AI are built on top of Google’s powerful Gemini AI. Specifically, the Galaxy S24 series utilises Gemini Nano for on-device AI operations. For more demanding AI tasks, the device employs Gemini Pro.
Here is the list of features of the Samsung Galaxy AI:
- Live Translate and Interpreter
- Transcript Assist
- Generative Edit and Suggestions
- Note Assist
- Circle to Search
- Chat Assist
Live Translate and Interpreter
The Live Translate feature translates phone calls in real-time while you’re on the phone. Meanwhile, Interpreter translates languages back to back. It provides a split-screen experience where both parties can see translations of each other's speech.
Available in Samsung’s voice recorder app, Transcript Assist transcribes recordings, including speaker identification. It can also translate the transcription into another language or provide a summary of the recording.
Generative Edit and Suggestions
Similar to the Magic Editor, Generative Edit in the Gallery app allows users to highlight objects in a photo to move, resize, or remove them, with AI filling in the gaps. Edit Suggestions automatically inspect photos and suggest possible edits.
Note Assist in Samsung Notes
The AI in Samsung Notes can set up notes using pre-existing templates based on your recurring needs. It also includes features like improving handwriting recognition and straightening out handwriting for a cleaner look.
Circle to Search
As its name implies, this feature allows users to quickly search for information about anything displayed on their screen using Google Lens, simply by drawing a circle around it. Remarkably versatile, it functions across all apps, offering a seamless experience.
Samsung Galaxy AI price
Samsung hasn't revealed the price of Galaxy AI yet. They have, however, confirmed that these features will be available free of cost until the end of 2025, so there's no need to worry about the price during this period.
After this trial, users will have to pay for Galaxy AI. It's anticipated that Samsung will introduce a subscription model to cover the costs associated with using Google's Gemini AI, which powers the Galaxy AI services.
