Despite a very busy CES, the reveals from Samsung aren't stopping yet, as Samsung Unpacked is here to reveal the upcoming S24 series of phones, as well as the future of AI at Samsung. So, if you want to stay in the know, here's how to watch the upcoming livestream.

We're waiting to pair the best phone controllers with the upcoming S24 phones, and if you've been waiting to see whether you'll be upgrading your Samsung (or switching from iPhone or another Android brand), this is what you need to know about the event.

How to watch Samsung Unpacked 2024

The best way to watch the stream will be on Samsung's YouTube channel, where the livestream will start on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT / 6PM GMT. There's also a live event in San Jose, California.

You can also head over to the Samsung YouTube channel now to see some teasers for Unpacked 2024. UK fans can pre-register for the stream via Samsung's website, which will also give you a voucher for Ā£50 off your new Galaxy device and a chance to win a trip to Chicago.

Samsung Galaxy S24 - what to expect

Similar to most Samsung smartphone reveals, we expect a standard Samsung Galaxy S24, as well as a Plus model, and a premium Ultra model. The S24 Ultra is expected to have some big changes, especially in the camera, with Samsung going for a 50MP 5x optical zoom telephoto camera over the S23 Ultra's 10MP 10x optical zoom telephoto, as leaked by @Tech_Rave on Twitter.

The same leaker suggests that the main camera will be 200MP, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and finally a 12MP front camera. We expect some major similarities between the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Plus models, considering that the Plus seems to suffer from middle child syndrome.

Samsung has also been teasing the AI features for the S24 series of phones. Aptly named Galaxy AI, it seems to be the company's answer to ChatGPT, which has seen a huge amount of popularity in the last few years. Even Microsoft is expanding its GPT-4 powered Copilot with a Pro subscription recently.

Samsung recently teased one use-case for Galaxy AI with AI Live Translate Call, which will translate other language's in real-time. The feature is natively on the device and happens during your standard calls, meaning that there's no requirement for third-party apps or features.

Samsung isn't the only company bringing AI features in devices. Alongside a surge of AI-related announcements during CES, with some of the best tech and gadgets from CES 2024 using AI, there's also the ASUS ROG Phone 8 release date coming up, with ASUS' upcoming smartphone using AI features to help with some of the best Android games.

While the ROG Phone 8 does have some AI features for standard smartphone uses, it's primarily focused on gaming. Hopefully, Galaxy AI will be able to help with daily uses, including when editing or taking photos.

That's everything we know about the upcoming Galaxy S24 phones. We're excited to see what Samsung has in store for us soon, and we can't wait to test them out ourselves.
