The iPhone 14 Pro Max could be Apple's best iPhone to date when it releases, and we'd love to know a release date for the new smartphone.
There's been a lot of rumours surrounding Android phones such as the Vivo X Note and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series, and it's high time that Apple got their own back. As per lots of leaks that have come out recently, it looks as though the iPhone 14 Pro Max may do just that, and it's definitely a phone to be excited for.
Here's everything we know so far, and why you should be excited about a brand new top of the line iPhone.
iPhone 14 Pro Max Release Date Rumours
If we're using previous years as a guide, then we could well see the iPhone 14 Pro Max launch in September 2022, alongside the rest of the new iPhone 14 lineup.
iPhones as far back as 2012 have launched in September with the release of the iPhone 5, and considering Apple has stuck to this pattern for nearly a decade, it seems highly unlikely that they would deviate.
Development, as per Apple analyst Jeff Pu (via MacRumors) hasn't been halted or hit any snags as the handset has passed through engineering validation tests on schedule, alongside trial production a couple of months ago, too.
iPhone 14 Pro Max Specs
As seems to be the case for iPhones, the rumour mill is working overtime for these new models, and specifically, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is no different.
As expected, it looks to be quite a powerful smartphone, as Apple's top-of-the-range model. This certainly looks to be reflected with its internal components as reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has noted as the Pro Max could be featuring Apple's new A16 Bionic chip inside, which marks a split as the standard model looks to keep the A15.
This power will also be reflected in an uprated camera, according to Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), who has said the Pro models' main sensor will feature a 48MP resolution, marking out a quadrupling of last year's 12MP main sensors.
When it comes to its display, as per analyst Ross Young, the Pro Max will utilise a 6.7 inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate that comes bundled with Apple's ProMotion tech they introduced on the iPhone 13 last year.

MyDrivers has noted that the storage capacity of the top models of the iPhone 14, Pro Mac included, could be set to double again to upwards of 2TB. Whilst the leaker does have a mixed track record, it's worth noting last year did see the top capacity double from 512Gb to 1TB, so it may well happen.
Speaking of memory, Jeff Pu (via MacRumors) has also suggested that the iPhone 14 Pro Max could ship with 8GB of RAM, which would be a first for iPhones. However, this sits at odds with another leak that says all iPhone 14 models, including the Pro Max, will have 6GB inside.
iPhone 14 Pro Max Design
Much like with the spec sheet of the iPhone Pro Max, there's also been some handy leaks about the phone's design, which show off some intriguing changes.
Below is an image created by Jon Prosser and RendersByIan that purports to show off what the iPhone 14 Pro Max could look like, based on information Prosser has obtained from insiders. Whilst Prosser can be a little hit and miss when it comes to leaks, the renders do look rather interesting:
The image shows a notchless iPhone, which is a point of contention amongst leakers, as well as an overall slightly thicker frame, and rounded volume buttons, as were featured on the iPhone 4 and 5 over a decade ago.
On the point of a lack of notch, reliable leakers such as Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman have note the release of the iPhone 14 as the end of the notch for Apple's phones, although Ross Young has said Apple could introduce a 'hole and pill' style piece at the top as opposed to just a punchhole camera.
This 'hole and pill' style seems to line up with some new CAD designs of the Pro Max that also show the phone to have 20% thinner bezels than its predecessor, as shown off by ShrimpApplePro, which you can check out below:
The same CAD files, according to ShrimpApplePro, may also indicate a much thicker camera bump on the new iPhone as opposed to last year's, which has also been suggested by 91Mobiles with their own renders.
iPhone 14 Pro Max Charger
According to leak spotted by 9to5mac, the iPhone 14 Pro Max could get a dual USB-C charger.
That would mean you could charge two devices at up to 35W.
That's impressive, if it turns out to be true, as while it reportedly exists that doesn't mean it'll be released.

iPhone 14 Pro Max Price
Concerning price. we've currently only got one leak to go on for the iPhone 14 Pro Max that can offer some insight into what the hone may end up costing,
As per LeaksApplePro, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is reported to be starting at $1199, which marks out a $100 increase over last year's phone. Considering what you're getting compared to last year's phone, it may actually represent better value for money.
