The Mandalorian Season 3 will be more like the first season

Excitement for The Mandalorian Season 3 is high, with fans excited to see the showdown between Bo-Katan and Din Djarin. It’s not just fanservice and cool fights fans have to look forward to, as Pedro Pascal has teased that Season 3 will be more like Season 1.

While Season 2 was good, many felt that Season 1 was superior since it was self-contained and didn’t overdo fanservice. Only time will tell if this back-to-basics approach will help the show, which isn’t exactly struggling in quality.

The Mandalorian Season 3 picks up Season 1 plot threads

Appearing in D23 (via SFFGazette.com), Pedro Pascal talked up the epicness of The Mandalorian Season 3, saying “epic” constantly. Beyond that, Pascal also brought up how Season 3 is going to follow up on plot threads from Season 1.

"I mean it's epic, it's definitely epic," Pascal says. "And we're going to get a lot of things that were introduced into the storytelling early in season 1, themes and ideas that you'll remember once we get into [the] full fruition of Season 3, and it's epic, epic...but I'm not lying, it is epic...the amount of times I say 'epic' gives everything away, okay?"

Some of those plot threads were teased in the recent trailers, with other Mandalorians from Season 1 teasing something ominous. Though the Season will likely tease more Star Wars shows, we can’t complain about seeing previous plot threads pay off.

Grogu and friends are back

Fans that missed The Book of Bobba Fett might be shocked to see Grogu and Dinn back together in The Mandalorian Season 3. Grogu won’t be the only one returning, with Peli Motto and Greef Karga making appearances as well, alongside angry Bo-Katan.

Trailers have teased that this Season is going to be, in Pedro’s words, epic, with numerous Mandalorians kicking ass everywhere. All of this and Din Djarin might be stripped of his mantle as a Mandalorian, it’s all really exciting stuff.

Disney+ will be streaming The Mandalorian Season 3 on February 2023.
