Straight off the bat, I can easily say that the ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile keyboard is the best I've ever used. Recently, my preferences have moved from full-sized keyboards to smaller 75-60% keyboards due to every writer’s fear: a lack of desk space. While there have been plenty that wowed me in recent memory, the Falchion RX is one that I'll actively want to go out and buy.

My recent recommendations would've been the Corsair K65 Plus wireless and the Ducky One 3 SF, both of which impressed me with great experiences. However, the slightly more expensive ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile, which sits at $169.99 / £169.99, in my personal opinion, is the keyboard you need to buy.

Currently, the ROG Falchion RX only comes in one colour - white. However, the slim build, bright design, and silver shell makes it stand out, and certainly fits my white PC build sitting beside me. It's not too heavy that it negates portability, but it's heavy enough that it can withstand long gaming sessions when things get intense, like attempting to survive an Automaton ambush in Helldivers 2, or trying to hit that ace in Valorant.

Like many other keyboards, the Falchion RX features two adjustable feet to elevate the top side of the keyboard, and while it's just a little lower than I'd really like, it's still very comfortable for when I'm working and typing out articles all day.

The Falchion RX also arrives with a similarly-designed cover, that lets you keep your beloved (and expensive) keyboard safe from dust or prying fingers (see: toddlers looking to play with my new gadget). This is the first keyboard I've ever had come with a handy cover, and it's become such a necessity that I don't think I could ever live without one - and I rarely use the "bonus accessories" that tech comes with.

The premium aesthetic is only heighted by a silver line above the keyboard that reads "Republic of Gamers", which lights up occasionally on its own accord, like if you use the dedicated touch bar at the top left of the board. Each key is individually backlit with RGB, but it keeps the sleek overall design by not being too over-the-top with its colours. Each of the low-profile keys are ABS, which is a surprise considering how high quality they are.

When it comes to typing with the Falchion RX, it feels as smooth as a breeze. Hitting each key comes with a subtle, and quiet click thanks to the new Red RX Low-Profile switches. There's still a good amount of feedback that many have come to love from the best gaming keyboards, but as someone who works from home, ASUS' own switches and the two layers of integrated silicone dampening foam pads have such a satisfying sound that doesn't annoy those trying to watch TV in the same room.

After the learning period, I can easily say that typing on the RX Falchion has been one of the most satisfying experiences I've got in years, as well as the small frame allowing me to speedily type out articles seemingly faster than I ever have.

Admittedly, the shift key has taken quite a hit from the smaller size, with both shift keys on either side being slightly shorter than I want from a keyboard. They're fine, and I got used to them over time, but it's still very easy to accidentally hit the adjacent keys. It's not worth knocking a point down for, but something you'll need to learn if you pick one up.

It's also one of the only 65% keyboards that delivers media controls, with a handy touch bar that can be used to switch tracks, change volume, or adjust lighting on-the-fly thanks to ASUS' Armory Crate software. Unfortunately, Armory Crate is still tedious and limiting, but thankfully, I've not had to use it too often, as I'm happy with the ice blue RGB behind each key.

When it comes to connectivity, the Falchion RX comes with an assortment of ways to connect to your PC or laptop. Firstly, you can use the traditional wired method, with a USB-C wire included. Next, there's the option to connect via Bluetooth, and then finally, there's an included USB dongle for wireless. All three are excellent methods of getting set up with the Falchion RX, and I actually think this might be one of the best wireless keyboards too.

In fact, I charged the keyboard prior to using it, and after an entire week of working, the Falchion RX is yet to die on me. ASUS states that the keyboard can get 430 hours out of a single charge with RGB off, and I have no doubt that, at least from my testing, that is fairly accurate.

Overall, the ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile offers one of the best typing experiences I've had in my years of gaming and working at my PC. It sounds incredible, feels smooth as ice to glide across, and the design is superbly premium. I cannot see myself finding another keyboard as good as this in the near future, and I highly recommend testing one out for yourself.

ROG Falchion RX Low Profile review
Sporting a premium design with a sleek look, the ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile delivers a solid 65% keyboard that feels great to type or game with. All of the features, as well as the host of connectivity options, and a handy little keyboard cover, make the Falchion RX, hands down, one of the best keyboards I've ever used.
