PS5 controller colours: Which colours will players be able to choose from for the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller?

If you're wondering about PS5 controller colours - or PS5 controller colors if you're reading this in the USA - you've come to the right place!

When Sony initially unveiled the PS5 controller, calling it the DualSense, the tech giant only showed us one possible version of the PS5 controller colours: the controller unveiled in Sony's official blog was a two-tone white and black controller.

You might be wondering, though, what other PS5 controller colours will players be able to choose from? We've been pondering that very same question, and we'll splurge some thoughts in this article!

Read on to discover our latest musings on the PS5 controller colours!

What are the standard PS5 controller colours?

Although Sony is yet to officially tell us, it seems plausible that the first wave of PS5 controllers may well stick to the PS5 controller colours that we saw in that official blog post.

This could mean that the PS5 controller that you get with your console is going to be white and black. But this is just speculation from us - Sony is yet to confirm the situation either way!

It would make a certain amount of sense for the PS5 to launch with just one PS5 controller colour scheme. That way, the controller would have one iconic look that could ingrain itself into people's minds and help give the PS5 controllers its iconic status.

Will there be other PS5 controller colors?

You can bet your bottom dollar that there will be other PS5 controller colours on the market at some point. In fact, Sony has already seemed to confirm that a black PS5 controller is coming!

Teasing a PS5 live-stream event, Sony revealed the first footage of a PS5 controller in black...

Even though Sony hasn't revealed any other alternative PS5 controller colour schemes yet, you've got to assume that this is too good of a sales opportunity to turn down.

For example, a PS1-style grey controller could be a nice retro throwback that would surely fly off the shelves.

As we've seen with the PS4, by the time we reach the end of the PS5's lifecycle as a console, we'd expect there to be a rainbow of options for players to choose from in terms of PS5 controller colours.

When the PS5 launches at the end of this year, though, it remains to be seen just how many PS5 controller colours you'll be able to choose from.

What have Sony said about DualSense colours?

As you'd expect, Sony has remained pretty quiet about the potential for different coloured controllers.

However, in an interview with Geoff Keighley after his hands-on with the DualSense, Eric Lempel, PlayStation's Head of Global Marketing, gave fans a small insight into the potential for colour variants.

"Right now, it's a hard enough job to get the unit we showed out," explained Lempel, "so, we'll talk about it at some point."

Lempel seemed to suggest that while colour variants are certainly coming, they won't be ready or revealed before the console launches later this year.

We don't yet know the pricing of either the DualSense controller or TrulyExquisite's gold version, but if we compare the price of the gold iPhone X (£2950) to its standard edition from the Apple Store (£629) and use this as the base mark-up, TrulyExquisite's products are 4.7x as expensive as the base device.

If we put the DualSense at £60, the gold version would cost you a cool £282.
