Turtle Beach VelocityOne FlightDeck is the ultimate HOTAS for PC

Following the brilliant VelocityOne Flight, the new Turtle Beach VelocityOne FlightDeck has been pitched (get it) as the ultimate HOTAS set up for PC flight sim players.

Described as a “premium hands-on throttle and stick” device, the VelocityOne FlightDeck is compatible with Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Sadly, the HOTAS setup won’t be compatible with Xbox consoles, unlike the VelocityOne Flight.

Designed to be used with “all current major flight simulation titles available on Windows PCs”, the new Turtle Beach HOTAS setup hosts a large number of features to use in X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Elite Dangerous and more.

Alongside 15 axes and 139 programmable functions to assign to any combination of flight systems, the Turtle Beach VelocityOne FlightDeck also offers a Touch Display and OLED HUD panel for extra customisation.

The full-color HUD is described as offering “diagnostics and performance adjustments, allowing pilots to effortlessly tweak their setup on-the-fly”. These options include axis response curves, rudder lock, lighting adjustments, touchpad response, and Turtle Beach audio enhancements for any connected 3.5mm headset.

Importantly, the new flight stick setup makes use of non-contact Hall effect components on all movement controls, offering longer lasting controls compared to its competitors. As someone who has suffered from a broken VelocityOne Flight, this is one major improvement that shouldn’t be overlooked.

For this new flight stick, Turtle Beach has even added an adjustable stick height to help the device feel comfortable to gamers of different hand sizes.

On the other hand, the Turtle Beach VelocityOne FlightDeck also makes the cardinal sin of having proprietary app functionality. If you want to download user made configurations or firmware updates easily, you’ll have to install the Flight Hanger App on your PC.

The Turtle Beach VelocityOne FlightDeck will cost an eye-watering $399.99 MSRP or £379.99 MSRP, and is available to pre-order now. Turtle Beach’s brand-new HOTAS device will hit store shelves on February 23, 2024.
