It’s been 11 years since Skyrim, and we’re still waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6 to release on console. As it turns out, fans aren’t the only ones desperate to get their hands on the upcoming Xbox RPG, as Bethesda head Todd Howard also wants it out in the wild.

Granted, most people want to see their product out in the public and receive positive reviews, but it’s an interesting confession from Todd. Will we have to see 10 more versions of Skyrim release before ESVI’s release date is gloriously revealed?

Currently, most Bethesda fans are still waiting for the sci-fi RPG Starfall to release on console and PC. The Elder Scrolls 6 development has taken so long, many are wondering if it’ll even come out this generation, but judging from plans for both the Xbox Series 2 release date and PS6 release date, it definitely will.

Speaking with Lex Fridman on YouTube, Todd Howard revealed that he wants the game to be released as well. Though Howard claims to have a “vague idea” for when the RPG is coming out, he doesn’t go any further, likely to not get our hopes up.

"I have a vague idea," Howard said about the game. "I wish it was soon. We want it out, too, and I wish they didn’t take as long as they did, but they do. And look, I mean, if I could go back in time, it would never have been my plan to wait as long as it’s taken for it."

While we may not have a solid Elder Scrolls 6 release date, it’s still going to be a huge deal for Xbox Series players on launch. Even if Microsoft thinks it's mid, this is the sequel to one of the biggest RPGs of all time. For many, including us, it’s an unmissable event.

Fans will remember how The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced with a CGI teaser of some mountains and nothing else. Most people in Bethesda, even Todd Howard, admitted that the game was announced too quickly, and is expected to come out after Starfall.
