Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be adding more playable characters to the game post-launch. Prior to the announcement, fans assumed that they would be stuck with Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark but that’s thankfully not the case.

According to the game’s official FAQ, post-launch content for the game will include “earnable characters” available at no extra cost. While no characters were named, we can assume that fan-favorites from the films like Rick Flag, Bloodsport, and Peacemaker are some of them.

New missions that will expand the story of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League were also confirmed, presumably to introduce these playable characters. This could also mean other members of the Justice League could be new bosses add to the game, though this is just speculation.

Hopefully, this doesn’t mean that the game’s campaign will end on a cliffhanger at launch since that would sour gamers on the title. Most people are already down on the game after that State of Play presentation and hiding the ending behind DLC, even if it’s free, would be annoying.

Fans are probably hoping that certain Justice League members end up becoming playable but we don’t think that’s happening. The fact that it’s called “Killed the Justice League” is the biggest indication. Gameplay has also confirmed that it’s primarily a third-person shooter and they shouldn’t give Batman a gun.

Introducing new characters could give Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League some much-needed excitement, as the game is already disappointing many. Despite not coming out yet, many already feel that this is going to be another generic live-service shooter. The inclusion of a Battle Pass and post-launch content doesn’t ease those fears.
