As the end of the first half of 2024 approaches, there are plenty of leaks coming out on the upcoming generation of iPhone models. Likely the iPhone 16, there's been rumours of a larger screen on the Pro Max, a new Capture button for iPhones, and even a new iPhone SE model, but it's not all great news.
According to OvO Baby Sauce OvO, as spotted by Phone Arena, the capacities for the four standard iPhone 16 models has been leaked. The iPhone 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max will allegedly have 3561mAh, 3355mAh, and 4676mAh capacities respectively, while the 16 Plus is reportedly getting a 4006mAh battery. That's a 8.6% reduction from the 15 Plus model's 4383mAh battery.
Of course, leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. But other leaks have suggested that the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro Max will be getting larger screens, which will likely drain battery life even quicker. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 is said to be using the A18 Pro, which is said to be more energy efficient, which may help to alleviate the larger screen, as well as the 16 Plus' smaller battery.
Considering how efficient the iPhone 15 line up is when it comes to battery life, especially with the latest iOS update bringing better battery health tools, it's a shame if the Plus model is losing some capacity. At least, if the leaks turn out to be true. But we'll have to wait for the iPhone 16's full reveal later this year before we can start buying some of the best power banks to pair with our 16 Plus.
