News on Insomniac Games’ upcoming PS5 exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been pretty light. However, lead actor Yuri Lowenthal has confirmed that motion capture and voice recording have been finished for the upcoming superhero romp.

During a Reddit AMA, Lowenthal confirmed to fans that he has finished his motion and voice recording for the new game. As one of the main actors in the webhead title, Lowenthal’s recording is likely a bulk of the game’s content.

Numerous rumours surrounding the upcoming Marvel sequel have pegged the page as having a September release date. Judging by Lowenthal’s finished performance, it seems that Insomniac Games is nearing the finish line.

Prior to this AMA, Lowenthal admitted that he still had some work to do for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but that was way back in January.

Considering the rumored September release date, we’re pretty sure that he’s done, especially since he has other roles to voice.

We’re definitely curious about the finished product, especially since it’s the sequel to one of Sony’s best AAA games.

Someone from Insomniac Games also hinted at new technology that would make dialogue more interesting, leading some to believe there will be a morality system.

Now that we know the symbiote is expected to play a big part in the game, a morality system makes all the sense in the world.

As of this writing, we still don’t know that much about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, aside from it coming to PS5 in September.

Insomniac Games has been adamant about this game being a PS5 exclusive, though we wouldn’t be shocked if a PC port came out after some years have passed.

Would have been nice to see a PS4 version but it seems Sony is determined to move on from the last-gen system.

Venom voice actor Tony Todd accidentally revealed that news and it hasn’t been commented on since, hence, the certainty.

Though Insomniac and Sony haven’t commented on it, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will likely be released this September for the PlayStation 5.
