Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t a limiting game at all, giving fans plenty of freedom to do what they want. However, one fan has advised against learning all the powerful spells too early, as this can bug the game out.

Reddit user Yourigath detailed his experience on trying to get too much power and how he almost lost everything. By everything, we mean leveling up in the RPG, as getting too many powerful spells early stopped his character’s progression.

Yourigath was able to add powerful spells early on via scrolls. These items let players cast powerful spells and can normally be used once. However, wizards can spend gold to add these scroll spells into their permanent arsenal.

Needless to say, Yourigath spent a good chunk of gold putting these powerful spells into their half-elf wizard. However, by the time they reached Level 10, Baldur’s Gate 3 didn’t let them choose any spells and wouldn’t let them level up more.

"You will get stuck here. With no way to level up or fix the character anymore," Yourigath warned on Reddit.

Thankfully, Yourigath was able to use a mod that tricks the RPG into making players choose their level-up skills again. Still, this is a situation that fans don’t want to find themselves in, so they shouldn’t get greedy for power. Finding a fix for this might be difficult since that would change what spells can be learned from leveling up.

Considering just how massive Baldur’s Gate 3 is, weird bugs like this were expected. This RPG is so big that Larian Studios doesn’t want to make an expansion yet. The devs already fixed its controversial Karmic Dice, so fans shouldn’t ask too much from them.

Small bugs aside, this anomaly of an RPG is a huge hit and that’s surprising everyone. Don’t expect to see other projects like this for a long time. However, there has been some controversy, as Larian Studios failed to credit the Brazilian localisation team for their work.
