Cyberpunk 2077 fans are preparing for the big 2.0 update that will change most of the game, but not every change will be free. It turns out that the brand-new Relic Skill Tree will be exclusive to the Phantom Liberty expansion, along with a number of other features.

Developer CD Projekt Red outlined what would be part of the free update and the Phantom Liberty expansion. While the free update will have the expanded skill tree and improved vehicle combat, it won’t have the Relic Skill Tree or increased Level Cap.

There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the Relic Skill Tree, as CD Projekt Red has been keeping it a secret since the expansion’s release. Obviously, there will be new skills for players to learn and use violently but what those skills are is a mystery.

At the least, Cyberpunk 2077 players with the free 2.0 update will still have plenty of new content to play through. We already mentioned the revamped Skill Tree and vehicle combat but there’s also improved enemy AI, more reactive police, and new radio stations.

Phantom Liberty buyers will be the biggest winners, as they get the new story and a ton of extra content. New side missions will be available in the expansion, alongside a whole new area where the story takes place and so much more. CD Projekt Red also confirmed that there would be a new ending for those who complete Phantom Liberty and the main story.

Seeing all of this progress for the cyberpunk RPG is great, especially since it originally launched in an abysmal state. While fans admired the ambition, all of the glitches and the unplayable last-gen ports rubbed many players the wrong way. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red didn’t give up and we now have an excellent RPG available.
