Set leaks for Amazon’s Fallout show have made their way online and they look fantastic. While we can’t judge the show’s quality based on a few images we aren’t supposed to see, it looks like Amazon has nailed the look of Bethesda’s apocalyptic RPG.

A post on the Xbox Series subreddit from BlueGameDevv showed off some impressive leaked footage of the upcoming video game adaptation. Everything from Pip-Boy to the vault uniform looks incredibly faithful, with a clear bias towards Fallout 3 and up, though we aren’t complaining.

These leaks aside, we still don’t know too much about the upcoming series. Judging from the footage, it’s clear that Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are major influences on the show’s look. We can expect the story to revolve around a vault dweller being forced to escape and survive in this harsh world.

Hopefully, the writing is up to par, since the Fallout games have gained a reputation for having good stories. (Especially Fallout 2!) We still have to wait for an official trailer before getting too excited but this does get some of our hopes up. Quality-wise, let’s hope the series is more Fallout: New Vegas and less Fallout 76.

It will be interesting to see just how much of these games the show adapts. After all, the Fallout games tend to be very silly, despite their serious storylines. Players can make a mess of themselves by equipping armor that doesn’t match; there are various monsters and even human mutations; and many quests are very satirical in nature.

Fallout isn’t the only video game TV show being adapted by Amazon. The company will also be adapting Sony’s acclaimed God of War video games, starting with the 2018 entry. However, that upcoming adaptation may end up cutting out the series’ canon PS2 stories.
