Baldur’s Gate 3 proved how useful Early Access is, using the service to test things out and refine the gameplay. Now that it’s coming to PC next week, many fans are calling it one of the best Early Access games ever made.

Fans on the game’s subreddit are deleting the Early Access version since it won’t be of much use. While the download will get updated into the real game, it will be so big that keeping this version won’t make much of a difference.

Still, many fans are reminiscing about their time with the Early Access version of Baldur’s Gate 3. There are also fans who are still playing it, just because this beta version of the game is so fun.

“Meanwhile, I've put almost 200 hours into it,” said JoeFlex90.

“Rookie hours I have almost 500,” says Alternative_Trade940.

“Similar. I played every class through Act 1,” says _throw_away_tacos.

Early Access has been a haven for indie games, as it lets Steam users try the game out before it's officially released. While not every Early Access game is an indication of quality, titles like Hades were able to improve and release to success because of it. We imagine something similar will happen with Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Early Access version, for all its good qualities, is still a beta and therefore an incomplete game. When the final release comes to PC next week, it’s set to have even more features than before, including a heavily detailed character creator. More promiscuous players can even choose what their privates look like if they’re daring enough.

Since Early Access proved to be a success, the final release will have even more features not seen in the beta. Larian Studios promised fans over 170 hours of cutscenes and 17,000 endings, all depending on player choices. Needless to say, this is an RPG that fans will replay over and over.
