Following the success of Zack Snyder's Justice League, fans of the original DCEU vision have started to ask for more. Following the Snyder Cut's success, fans are now requesting the elusive cancelled Ben Affleck The Batman movie.
In response to the Snyder Cut's popularly, fans have asking for HBO Max to produce The Batman with Ben Affleck in the role. With Deathstroke's appearance at the end of Justice League, fans are very eager to see more of the imposing villain.
What is #MakeTheBatfleckMovie?
Much like with the popular ReleaseTheSnyderCut fan campaign, the original version of The Batman has its own campaign. Banding together under the Make The Batfleck Movie hashtag, fans are hoping the movie could see release on HBO Max.
Unlike the Snyder Cut, this wouldn't just be post production on an already existing movie. Instead, fans are hoping that HBO Max Snyder Cut release could prove successful enough to fund an entire movie. Even better, the fans have the backing of one of the film's actors – Deathstroke’s Joe Manganiello.
In a Twitter post, Manganiello hyped up fans to get Deathstroke his own HBO Max movie or TV show. “Tell the world why YOU want to see Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke get his own HBO Max movie or series and remember to use #DeathstrokeHBOMax in every post,” the actor wrote.
What's the difference between the original The Batman and the new one?
There's already a movie in development with the title The Batman. The upcoming Matt Reeves with Robert Pattinson in the batsuit was supposed to release last year. However, due to Coronavirus setbacks the movie was delayed numerous times. In fact, filming has only just wrapped on the upcoming superhero movie.
Unlike the original plans for The Batman, this new movie has no connection to the wider DC Cinematic Universe. Instead of being a prequel to Batman v Superman, this new movie is an adaptation of a popular comic book.
The new Batman movie is slated to release on March 4th, 2022 in cinemas and on HBO Max. A prequel series and sequels are planned for the franchise.
