Razer has announced a new model of its popular Huntsman gaming keyboard. The Razer Huntsman Mini is the latest addition to the brand's extensive range of PC gaming accessories.

Keyboards in the Razer Huntsman family are known for what Razer describes as "industry-leading optical switches that outperform traditional mechanical switches in both speed and response times". The new model is an ultra-compact version with much of the same tech in a much smaller frame.

Razer Huntsman Mini specs

Developed in response to increasing demands from players, the Razer Huntsman Mini is said to be 60% smaller than its big brother. But that compactness doesn't come at the price of performance.

The Mini features a choice of two optical switches. Get the purple clicky version for the full mechanical effect, or the red linear version for the instantaneous feel. Both are industry-leading, using light to maximise response time. They're durable up to 100 million clicks, so they'll serve you well for many years to come.

Removed to make the keyboard as compact as possible are the function row, home cluster and numpad. Razer assures gamers that no functionality is lost though, stating: "Functions normally assigned to dedicated keys on a full-sized keyboard are still present as secondary functions, printed onto the side of the keycaps. Even more functions or macros can be assigned to any key via Razer Hypershift within Razer Synapse 3."
