With Streak Restore, you have the ability to restore one streak for free. Once you have utilized this free restoration, the price shown on your device is the price that you’ll be charged if you choose to restore a Snapstreak. The cost to restore a Snapstreak will vary in different countries.
Snapchat is also working on a feature that allows Snapchat Plus subscribers to freeze their Streaks, in case they want to take a break from the platform. This feature comes in handy when you wish to temporarily deactivate your Snapchat account.
The Streak Restore feature is the company's attempt to get more cash
The introduction of the Streak Restore feature can be seen as Snapchat's strategic move to enhance its revenue streams.
In a recent filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, Snap acknowledged the need to shift focus from experimental or non-monetized features, such as Snapchat Games, towards products that can contribute to the company's financial growth
By offering monetized features like Streak Restore while also catering to the needs of its users with useful features such as My AI, Snapchat aims to strike a balance between generating revenue and providing a positive user experience.
That said, Snapchat could use time-sensitive notifications to help users maintain their Snapstreaks. These notifications can remind us when we are about to lose a Snapchat streak, ensuring we have the opportunity to continue it.
But since the Streak Restore feature undoubtedly presents a potential avenue for revenue generation, it's unlikely that Snapchat will roll out this feature.
