How to turn off the DualSense speaker
In certain situations, you might just want to mute your DualSense controller altogether, perhaps to take a phone call, or speak to someone without distractions.
The DualSense controller actually has a mute button on it. Its primary function is to mute the in-built microphone. But it does have a secondary purpose. If you press and hold it down, it will start blinking orange, and this will indicate that all sound from your PS5 has been muted. It should be fairly obvious when this kicks in.
How to adjust the DualSense controller speaker volume
If you just want to mute the controller however, and leave the sound on elsewhere, you can do this as well.
- Go to the home screen and select Settings > Accessories > Controllers.
- From here, you can adjust your volume,as well as vibration intensity, trigger effect intensity and the brightness of controller indicators.
This gives you more nuanced adjustments to the settings on your controller, and will allow you to mute the speakers on the DualSense, should you wish. Now you know, you can play with the settings until you find the perfect combination for you.
