If you forgot your TikTok email and password and want to recover your account, it can be a pretty daunting experience as you face having to start all over again.
As one of the fastest-growing social media apps, TikTok offers enough content for you to lose hours, if not days, at a time. TikTok duets, lip-synching songs, viral filters and the latest TikTok trends can keep you entertained throughout the day.
Some people may decide to sign out to give themselves some respite from the temptation to watch just one more video. Others may sign out if they have been using a shared device.
But what happens when the time comes to reimburse yourself in that world, and you can't remember your login credentials? Well, you can always watch TikTok without the app, without logging into your account, but it doesn't offer the full TikTok experience. You won't be able to message on TikTok, repost videos you like or go live on TikTok.
While TikTok has a number of different ways to sign in, you may still need help identifying the email address linked to your account, or recovering your account altogether. Luckily for you, that's exactly what we are going to help with, right here, right now.
How To Recover Your TikTok account
The easiest and simplest way to recover your TikTok account is to do a password reset request. To do this when you aren't already logged in:
- Tap Sign up.
- Tap Log in at the bottom of the page.
- Select Use phone / email / username.
- Choose Email / Username.
- Tap Forgot password?
- Choose to reset your password with your phone number or email.
Once you receive the communication from TikTok, follow the steps to create a new password, and you're sorted. But what happens if you don't know which email address is linked to your account?
Well, the best thing to do here is to perform the password reset using your mobile phone number. You do also have the option of signing in via Facebook, Google, Twitter, Apple and Instagram.
Any of these, once logged in, will allow you to reset your password to something more memorable. Once you've regained access to your account, you can then find your email address. We'll explain how, further down.
If you went further and deleted your TikTok account, you can recover it within 30 days of deletion. You can attempt to log in as usual. TikTok will then inform you that the account was deactivated. You then just need to tap "Reactivate" to recover your account.

How To Find Which Email Is Linked To Your Account
Finding out which email address is linked to your TikTok account is relatively simple, as long as you already have access to your account. From here:
- Go to your TikTok profile and click the Settings and Privacy option.
- Select Manage Account.
- Choose Email.
- If you have already linked your email address, this is where you will see it.
- On the other hand, if you haven't got an email address linked, then you have the option to add it at this point.
- Once you have entered your email address, you will receive an email from TikTok asking you to validate the address.
If you haven't been able to reset your password, because you didn't link a phone number or an email address, and can't remember your password, there is still hope.
