If you are wondering how to add music to your BeReal, this guide is for you!

Taking inspiration from Kiwi Music, BeReal has recently introduced a new feature to the app that lets you share what you’re listening to as you’re taking (or retaking) your daily BeReal.

In this article, we will share how you can add music to your BeReal post. So, let's jump right into it!

How to add music to your BeReal

Since BeReal is relatively a new app, some not-so-tech-savvy users are finding it hard to navigate and use all its features effectively. People are turning to Google to find how to add location to BeReal posts, how to login to BeReal on a new phone and so on.

If you are one of them, today we will show you how to add music to your BeReal, so you can let your friends know what kind of songs are you into.

In order to add music to your Bereal, you will need a Spotify or Apple Music account. BeReal has a partnership with both music subscription apps and users will need to connect one of these accounts to the social media app.

Now, here’s how to add music to your BeReal:

  • Open the BeReal app.
  • Tap your profile picture icon in the top right corner.
  • Tap the three dots icon in the top right corner to access Settings.
  • Tap Audio under Features.
  • Tap Connect next to the audio streaming service that you have an account with.
  • Use your account credentials to log into either Spotify or Apple Music.

As you take your BeReal, the cover art of the audio you’re listening to will appear at the bottom of the screen.

If you want to share the song, simply tap on the cover art at the bottom to access the "Currently Playing" tab, and select the "Shared" option to make it visible to your friends.

Alternatively, if you prefer to keep your music taste private, you can choose the "Private" option to make the song visible only to yourself. Or you can choose "Disabled" to not add music to your BeReal post.

Disconnect music from BeReal

Users that might get tired of music in their BeReal posts will be happy to know that disconnecting music from your profile is easy. Just follow the previous steps and pick “log out” next to either Spotify or Apple Music.

While this can be done at any time, we don’t think that it’s a necessary step to be taken. Since it's up to the user to add music, putting them in your post is entirely optional. Plus, it’s not like adding the music costs more money or anything like that.

That’s how you add music to your BeReal. You can also read our guides on how to fix BeReal notifications and how to delete a BeReal post. Also, don't forget to check the BeReal time for today.
