Where is Lady Esther in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Lady Esther can be found in the Mountain Pass region. She will be a short distance away from the Trielta Crags waypoint.

When you talk to Lady Esther, she’ll tell you about how a group she works for is in need of a githyanki egg for an experiment, starting the Steal a Githyanki Egg quest. She will also have a few items for sale.

Procuring a githyanki egg is no easy task, but much like every other objective in Baldur’s Gate 3, there are several ways to go about this quest. After obtaining a githyanki egg, you can either hand it over to Lady Esther, keep it to yourself, or try to pull off a switcheroo by giving the NPC an owlbear egg instead.

What happens if you give the githyanki egg to Lady Esther?

If you fulfill Lady Esther’s request and give her the egg, she will reward you with 258 gold and permanently close her shop. However, Lady Esther’s story doesn’t end there.

The next time you find Lady Esther, she will be on the ground lying in a pool of her own blood, murdered by the githyanki that was hatched from the very egg you gave her. Unfortunately, Lady Esther’s demise looks inevitable since refusing to give her the egg will prompt her to attack your party.

And though it has not been confirmed, it is widely believed that successfully tricking Lady Esther with the owlbear egg will produce a result similar to giving her the githyanki egg. The difference being she is murdered by an owlbear instead of a githyanki.
