Sure, watching your rustic medieval town grow and evolve from above is incredibly satisfying, but it doesn’t quite compare to exploring it on foot. Thankfully, the Manor Lords first-person mode - called visit mode - lets you do just that and more. So, how do you use Manor Lords’ first-person camera to walk around for yourself?

By accessing a rather tucked-away function, you’re able to explore Manor Lords' buildings in first-person and view your baron in all their glory. It doesn’t offer you much of an advantage, but it’s a great way to get fully immersed in your settlement. It's particularly fun to watch your Manor Lords horses as traders transport cargo around your kingdom or take a gander at your villagers' houses.

How to use first-person mode in Manor Lords

To use first-person mode in Manor Lords, all you have to do is enable ‘visit mode’ by selecting the small eye icon under your portrait in the top right corner of the screen. This will let you freely walk around your settlement.

While in visit mode, you can explore almost anything, from walking around your marketplace to checking out select interiors. However, just be aware that, while you can run, you can’t jump. So, if there’s a rickety wooden fence in the way and you’re hoping to vault over to save yourself some time, think again.

You can enter visit mode at any time by activating the small button next to your portrait.

Likewise, only certain interiors are accessible, such as houses, though there’s not all that much to see, truth be told. I’ve mostly used first-person to see all my villagers at work while I’m planning out my next move.

It’s also worth mentioning that visit mode is currently in active development. In fact, there is a small warning when activating first-person, noting that you should expect to see glitches. So, it’s best to use visit mode sparingly, at least for now while the function is in its early stages. The last thing you want is a game-breaking bug or a crash - your villagers have work to do.

That’s how to enter visit mode to take advantage of Manor Lords’ first-person camera. While you’ll be spending most of your time in the strategic top-down camera, giving you a clear lay of the land to plan ahead, it’s hard not to enjoy a more immersive perspective from time to time. You can even use it to walk around your very own Manor Lords manor house. As for your next move, why not take a look at the best Manor Lords units to ensure you're prepared for anything?
