How to get the shotgun in Lethal Company

The only way to get a shotgun in Lethal Company is from the Nutcracker enemy. This enemy was added in Update 45 for the game and wields the shotgun as it wanders the map. You'll get the Nutcracker's shotgun if you kill the Nutcracker, although there is another way you can get your hands on this powerful gun.

If you sneak behind the Nutcracker, it is possible to steal the shotgun out of its hands. You'll have to wait for the creature to stand still and start scanning for you and other players, at which point it will be vulnerable. At this point, sneak up behind the Nutcracker.

When standing behind the Nutcracker, players can press "E" to grab the shotgun from it, and the gun will take an empty slot in one of your four inventory slots.

The shotgun is capable of one-shotting most of the killable monsters in Lethal Company, although you'll have to stand right next to them for your shots to land. Despite its power, the shotgun has a small effective range and monster hitboxes aren't the most consistent, so take care when you use your limited supply of shells.

How to get more shotgun shells in Lethal Company

When you kill the Nutcracker, they'll also drop two shotgun shells. These will each take an inventory slot, so you'll have to travel light if you're the one wielding the shotgun in your group.

Unfortunately, there isn't any other way to get more shotgun shells. If you kill another Nutcracker, you'll be able to get a couple more shells, but it's probably not worth going through the trouble.
