First of all, you need to allow access from outside the network in your router settings so that your friends can connect to your server. You can find information on how to do this in your router's manual, including information on port forwarding. If you don't have access to the manual, you can search for your router model on this site and get detailed instructions on port forwarding.

  • In your Steam library, above the list of games, click on the Games section.
  • In the list that opens, check the box next to Tools.
  • After that, the Enshrouded Dedicated Server will appear in the list of games. Install it.
  • Next, right-click on Enshrouded Dedicated Server and go to Properties > Installed Files > Browse.
  • Run enshrouded_server.exe. After that, all the necessary folders required for the server to function will appear.
  • Now open the enshrouded_server.json file in a text editor. Here you can change the server name and password. Also, pay attention to the queryPort because you will need it later.

If you closed enshrouded_server.exe, reopen it to make the server work. However, even if you have done everything correctly, you probably won't find your server in Enshrouded in the list of available servers because there may be problems with searching for a server by name. Here's how to solve it:

  • Go to Steam > View > Game Servers.
  • Next, in the Favorites tab, click on the plus sign.
  • Next, go to your router settings in your browser and find your WAN IP address. Enter this address in the field, then a colon and your queryPort. It should look something like this: “105.165.102.122:28385”.
  • After clicking OK, your server will appear in your Favorites list.
  • Click on your server and press Connect.
  • After that, enter your server password and click Join Game.

When you open the list of available servers, yours will be at the top of the list on the first page. All you need to do is click Join, enter your password, and enjoy the game. For your friends to join, they also need to add the server to their Favorites. The server will consume approximately 4.5 gigabytes of your RAM and an additional 100 megabytes for each player.

That's all you need to know to host an Enshrouded server. By the way, if you want to read even more, here's our article on how to get String in Enshrouded, make sure to check it out.
