How to get Enshrouded Clay

In Enshrouded, the need for Clay arises after encountering the Carpenter, which triggers the "Carpentry Assistance" quest. Once you've found the Carpenter, you gain access to the Kiln, where you can make Fired Bricks. You'll need them for crafting important structures on your base, such as the Smelter.

First, you'll need to find the Carpenter. The Carpenter's Ancient Vault is positioned slightly east of the Cinder Vault and southwest of the Low Meadows Fast Travel tower. To place the Carpenter at your base, you need a Summoning Staff, which can be crafted with 1 Twig.

Once the Carpenter is at your base, you can interact with him. He'll give you a new workbench, the Kiln, requiring 10 lumps of Clay to operate. Now, you can begin looking for Clay.

To harvest Clay, you'll need a Scrap Pickaxe, which you can craft with 8 Metal Scraps and 1 Shroud Wood. Metal Scraps can be found in chests and abandoned houses, and you can also destroy metal objects to get them. Scavengers Enemies may drop them when defeated. As for Shroud Wood, you need to cut down trees in the Shroud.
